Winter activities in Trentino
The alpine skiing area next to Segonzano is that of Alpe Cermis Cavalese. Situated nearly 20 km away, it is equipped with all the latest technology in terms of artificial snow machinery and ski lifts, and it offers its guests an enchanting view of the Eastern and Western Dolomites up to the Austrian Alps across the border. The quality of snow is recognized as one of the best in the entire area of Fiemme and Fassa, and it covers 25 km of slopes of all kinds, particularly the Olimpia slope that with its 7,500 meters of expansion and 1400 meters of vertical drop is one of the longest tracks of Trentino. On Wednesdays and Fridays the slopes are open from 19.30 to 22.30 for unforgettable night skiing. Renowned restaurants and bars liven up the days at the altitude.

For cross-country skiing lovers we suggest the valley trail winding along the famous Marcialonga trail, from the town of Molina di Fiemme to the north. Or else the alpine scenery of the Lavazè plateau to the north of Varena. Ice skating, instead, can be practiced in Miola di Pinèin the namesake plateau, where you can scroll your blades on the famous ring, home to various world sporting events, or in the adjoining indoor stadium. In the Curling stadium in Cembra, we can attend various national events of this sport having been practiced in the Valley for several decades, thanks to a group that is very active in international competitions.
For children, the ski lift in Pradis in the municipality of Bedollo near the Piazze Lake offers a field with a ski lift suitable to first ski experiences with a qualified ski instructor available to teach the basics of the descent practice. Here, you can also find a toboggan run. The plateau of the Lagorai chain between Mount Cogne to the north of Sover, up to the top of above Costalta, is an ideal natural setting for snow-shoeing.
